At Scottish Action for Mental Health, we are dedicated to promoting mental wellbeing and providing essential support services. We have been representing the voice of people affected by mental health issues in Scotland for many years.

Our organisation has a strong presence in over 60 communities, working with adults and young people to provide mental health social care support. Our services include primary care, schools, and further education, among others.

The position of Peer Support Worker is a vital part of our mission. As a Peer Support Worker, you will use your own lived experience of mental health issues to support service users in a recovery-focused way.

This role requires someone who can demonstrate excellent communication skills and a mature attitude, as well as adaptability and enthusiasm. Personal lived experience of mental ill-health is essential for this position.

You will work in a supportive environment, receive a full induction, and have access to ongoing training opportunities. This will enable you to develop your knowledge and skills, as well as professionally.

We offer a competitive salary of £23,000 per annum (pro rata) or £12.00 per hour, reflecting the importance of this role. In addition to your salary, you will also benefit from:
