Job Overview

AE Talent Solutions LTD is seeking a qualified Trainer and Educator to deliver construction training programs at HMP Norwich.

This role involves working with learners who have had little or no prior education, providing valuable input to quality-approved schemes of work, session plans, and delivery resources. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality facilitation, teaching, learning, and assessment that encourages and motivates learners to remain on provision and progress into employment.

Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify individual learner needs and create personalized learning plans linking to long-term employment goals.
  • Continuously review learner progression to ensure training meets their identified needs.
  • Prepare, deliver, and review comprehensive lesson plans addressing the training needs of groups, including basic literacy, numeracy, language, and social/employability barriers to employment.
  • Actively gather feedback from learners and other sources, reviewing and improving curriculum content accordingly.
  • Engage and motivate individuals and learner groups to increase retention.
  • Complete necessary administration, such as registers, enrolment forms, ILPs, reviews, Awarding Body documentation, in line with contractual deadlines.
  • Work with colleagues/host to assist learner progression towards qualifications and movement into employment.
Requirements
  • Level 3 Teaching qualification (e.g., AET/PTLLS/CertEd)
  • Assessing qualification L3 or equivalent (desirable)
  • Health and Safety qualification at L3 or above
  • Construction trades employment background with experience of at least 2 years
  • Successful applicants must undergo a DBS or DS check or Prison Security Clearance where applicable and provide proof of Right to Work in the UK
