Position Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Social Worker to join Sanctuary Personnel Ltd's Adoption Team on a permanent, full-time basis in Surrey.

Main Responsibilities and Expectations
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing family functioning, providing assistance and support when relationship breakdown threatens the health or wellbeing of children at risk of abuse or neglect.
  • Collaborating with other professionals to build effective working relationships and help children, young people, and families improve their lives and regain control when safety or community participation is restricted is a key aspect of this role.
  • Carrying out assessments and developing responses to safeguard children from abuse, neglect, or exploitation, establishing strong relationships with children, adults, and families as necessary, including intervention when information suggests a need to remove a child from their parents or carers.
  • Arranging suitable alternative care (including permanent homes) in collaboration with children, young people, and their parents/carers where they cannot provide care.
  • Promoting autonomy and development with individuals who have complex social needs, such as those with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or diminished capacity.
  • Maintaining accurate and high-quality records of case activity and participating in planning and decision-making forums, including case discussions, Strategy Meetings, Legal Planning meetings, Child Protection Conferences, Statutory Reviews.
  • Working with communities, families, and individuals to maximize or promote their personal strengths, social networks, and resources.
  • Holding a caseload of moderate complexity and providing guidance, support, and expert advice to social care staff, students, and newly qualified social workers as needed.
Qualifications and Skills Required
  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Continual professional development.
  • Social Work England registration.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this Supervising Social Worker position is up to £42,246 per annum.
