About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as **Director of Development and Head of Foundation**. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for leading our fundraising efforts and developing strategic partnerships to drive our mission forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to maximize voluntary income and drive growth.
    • Work closely with our senior leadership team to identify and pursue new funding opportunities and partnerships.
  • Trusts and Foundations
    • Lead the development and submission of grant applications to trusts and foundations, ensuring a strong understanding of our organization's activities and future plans.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including trusts, foundations, and major donors.
  • Corporate and Events
    • Develop and implement a corporate partnerships strategy to secure cash and in-kind donations.
    • Work with our events team to plan and deliver fundraising events, including gala nights, press nights, and project visits.
  • Line Management
    • Support the development officer in managing a reporting schedule for our funders.
    • Deliver a timely thanking process for all levels of donations, gifts, and grants.
  • Advocacy
    • Represent our organization at events, press nights, and important performances, including occasional UK and international travel.
  • General
    • Take an active role in your continuing professional development, identifying relevant training and professional development opportunities.
    • Work in accordance with our environmental policy and plan, and proactively develop and encourage environmentally sustainable practice.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in fundraising and development, with a strong track record of securing grants and donations.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of GDPR, data protection, and fundraising compliance.
  • Flexibility, approachability, and adaptability, with the ability to work well within and lead a small team.
