About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Director to lead our fundraising efforts and help shape our new fundraising campaign. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support our mission to improve patient care and reduce illness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead efforts to secure major gifts from trusts, foundations, and corporate partners
  • Develop and implement a new fundraising strategy to increase income from major gift fundraising
  • Work with the development board to plan and execute a new fundraising campaign
  • Enhance our fundraising profile to highlight the contributions of donors and the impact of funded projects
  • Refresh our fundraising communications strategy and produce high-quality digital and hardcopy materials
  • Facilitate the work of development committee members in advising on strategy, monitoring progress, and introducing new prospects
  • Support the development of fundraising skills among colleagues
  • Maximize the fundraising potential of our heritage collections and grow the fundraising income of our museum, archive, and library
  • Ensure due diligence on prospective donors and adherence to internal processes and procedures
Requirements
  • Substantive major gift experience, including securing six-figure gifts from individuals, trusts, foundations, or corporate partners
  • Highly developed networking skills to build and sustain a network of supporters
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
