About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Grants Officer to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment. As a Research Grants Officer, you will play a critical role in strengthening the grants management process and administration of our research portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grant Scheme Development: Prepare and launch funding schemes, including website and social media publicity, and coordination with relevant research stakeholders.
  • Application Form Management: Prepare and update application forms and guidance documentation for applicants.
  • Enquiry Management: Act as the primary point of contact for all applicant enquiries throughout the assessment process.
  • Peer Review Coordination: Support the Research Grants Manager in selecting and contacting high-quality peer reviewers for all grant applications and ensure transparent assessment processes are followed.
  • Grant Payment Processing: Process and record grant payments and assist the Research Grants Manager with budget forecasts.
  • Interim Report Management: Issue and collect interim reports from grant holders and assist the Research Grants Manager to assess the impact of the research performed.
  • Procedure Implementation: Assist the Research Grants Manager in implementing and updating relevant best practice procedures to ensure a transparent and robust assessment process.
Requirements
  • Advanced IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and research management software such as Flexi Grant.
  • Grants Management Experience: Experience in grants management and pre- and post-grant administration or other relevant experience.
  • Writing and Reporting Skills: Experience in writing formal minutes and preparing reports and papers.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent multitasking, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and meet tight deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to work with senior academics and communicate effectively.
