Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Research Development Officer to join our team at the Heart, Lung and Critical Care Clinical Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the preparation of commercially funded research grants and ensuring the smooth execution of post-award and project set-up processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist researchers in the preparation of research grant applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Facilitate the post-award process, ensuring funding information is passed on to other members of the Research Office in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with the Research Development Manager and Research Development Associate to organize and implement research development initiatives, promoting the Trust's research activities to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the collection and analysis of data, preparing reports on grant submissions, awards, research publication outputs, and other assessments of research activity, outputs, and impact.
  • Provide administrative support to the research development team, including grant administration and coordination.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of AcoRD and its application in the NHS, ensuring accurate attribution of costs for research and development projects.
  • Source relevant funding opportunities for researchers within the Heart, Lung and Critical Care Clinical Group.
Requirements
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software systems.
  • Knowledge of research development principles and practices.
