Autism Support Assistant

Remedy Recruitment Group is recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant to work one-to-one with a Deaf pupil who requires support with SEMH. The ideal candidate will have completed Makaton training and possess knowledge of BSL (British Sign Language).
About the RoleThe primary responsibility will be to aid the pupil in their learning, promoting engagement and attainment.
Key Requirements- Aid the pupil in achieving their educational goals
- Utilize Makaton training daily to support the pupil's learning
- Assist in creating and implementing strategies to promote engagement and attainment
- Experience working with children with Autism and SEMH (Autism Awareness training is preferred but not essential)
- Makaton training
- Experience working in schools is essential as is knowledge of working against a support plan / behaviour plan
- Foundational BSL
- Experience of working with Deaf pupils
- A positive, caring attitude
An estimated salary range of £36,101 - £48,622 per annum + Depending on experience
