The Contract Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of contracts with Commissioners, including ICBs, NHS England, and Local Authority Commissioners. This will involve supporting the management of the entire process from annual negotiation cycles to monthly analysis and reporting.
The post holder will provide advice and guidance as an expert in their field, with an in-depth knowledge of complex contract arrangements. They will lead on contract management for designated areas of responsibility and keep abreast of changing contractual guidance from all commissioners.
The Contract Manager will develop detailed service specifications for inclusion within contract documentation and lead contract negotiations for designated contracts. They will also provide contract negotiation support to the Head of Contracts on the wider contract portfolio.
The successful applicant will have a sound understanding of project management principles and be able to implement robust processes. They will also be well-organized and able to respond to variances in activity and financial information with external stakeholders.
Key Skills and Competencies- Highly developed analytical and interpretative skills to enable an extensive understanding of complex financial, information, and performance management needs.
- Extensive in-depth professional knowledge in a number of disciplines, including contract negotiation, financial management, performance management, and information systems.
- Detailed theoretical and practical knowledge of NHS Contracting/Commissioning regime and experience of project management.
