Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Devices Management Expert to join our Clinical Devices Team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing operational management of medical devices across the Trust, working closely with clinical staff and other colleagues to ensure the effective use and maintenance of medical devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working to the Trust's rolling 5-year medical device plan, adjusting and prioritizing tasks to meet organizational requirements.
  • Rationalizing the equipment inventory to enforce standardization and remove redundant items.
  • Managing external contracts, including managed equipment services/PFI, lease equipment, and other contracts.
  • Providing advice, contributing to, and writing relevant departmental business cases.
  • Preparing complex management reports that may require negotiation and diplomacy, both internal and external to the Trust.
Requirements
  • Relevant undergraduate degree or equivalence in Medical Physics or Biomedical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years post-training experience at AfC Band 7 working in a Clinical Engineering or Medical Physics role within the NHS.
  • Expert knowledge and extensive practical experience of medical device technologies, safety issues, and quality assurance.
  • Advanced understanding of patient and staff risks arising from the use of complex medical devices.
