Job Summary

The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced plastic surgeon to join the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Expert Advisory Group (PRASEAG). As a member of this group, you will provide clinical and scientific expertise on the regulation of medical devices used in plastic surgery, both for cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing expertise on the regulation of medical devices used in plastic surgery
  • Assessing the risks and benefits of medical devices used in plastic surgery
  • Contributing to the development of guidelines and recommendations for the regulation of medical devices used in plastic surgery
  • Representing the views of the wider Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) and feeding back the work of PRASEAG to its members

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be a registered healthcare professional with experience in plastic surgery
  • Be an active member of the JCCP Council
  • Have the ability to represent the views of the wider JCCP and to feedback the work of PRASEAG to its members
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be able to operate effectively on an expert scientific committee
