The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is seeking a skilled individual to join its team as a Senior Plastic Surgery Expert Advisor.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a registered healthcare professional with expertise in plastic surgery to contribute to the regulation of medical devices used in this field.
About the Role
As a Senior Plastic Surgery Expert Advisor, you will be responsible for providing clinical and scientific perspective on the regulation of medical devices used in plastic surgery, both for cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.
You will work closely with the Interim Devices Working Group (IDWG) to ensure that medical devices meet the required standards for safety and efficacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on the regulation of medical devices used in plastic surgery
- Assess the risks and benefits of medical devices used in plastic surgery
- Develop and maintain knowledge of UK medical device regulatory framework and procedures
- Maintain strict confidentiality with respect to the work of the IDWG
- Declare conflicts of interest and adhere to the Code of Practice
Requirements
- Registered healthcare professional with expertise in plastic surgery
- Member of the Cosmetic Practice Standards Authority (CPSA) Board
- Experience in assessing benefit and risk relating to patient safety
- Ability to operate effectively on an expert scientific committee
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible attitude and ability to work as a team member
What We Offer
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, and access to a range of benefits, including training and development opportunities.
