Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our team as a Ward Manager on a permanent contract. The successful candidate will work a 40/60 split between clinical and managerial responsibilities.

Main Responsibilities

1. Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team and assume responsibility for the trauma ward.

2. Lead and develop the nursing team in the care of trauma, surgical, and orthopaedic patients and assist in the development of clinical competencies.

3. Provide expert, holistic care of a high standard to both patients and their relatives within the hospital.

4. Act as a clinical resource within the ward and across the Care Group as necessary.

5. Be an effective clinical leader and role model with good delegation and supervisory abilities.

6. Be a safe and effective practitioner able to provide patients and relatives with high-quality nursing care.

7. Undertake managerial responsibilities ensuring staff management is safe, effective, and within the assigned budget. Strong involvement in recruitment and retention programmes.

8. Work alongside the ward consultant and service manager to drive forward quality and excellent patient care.

9. Provide leadership and visibility on the ward.
