We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nurse Leader to join our team as a Ward Manager on a permanent contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing the nursing team in the care of trauma, surgical, and orthopaedic patients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop the nursing team to provide high-quality patient care and support the development of clinical competencies.
- Provide expert, holistic care to patients and their relatives, ensuring a safe and effective practice.
- Undertake managerial responsibilities, ensuring staff management is safe, effective, and within the assigned budget.
- Work alongside the ward consultant and service manager to drive forward quality and excellent patient care.
- Develop and implement policies and protocols within the clinical area, ensuring evidence-based practice.
- 1st level Registered Nurse with a 1st Degree and relevant expertise in trauma/surgical speciality.
- Demonstrate interest in and commitment to the professional development of others.
- Experience of managing teams/individuals and an understanding of HR processes.
- Safeguarding adults and children.
- Able to analyse and interpret a variety of forms of information and plan appropriate action.
- Ability to organise and manage day-to-day departmental activities and the activities of a large multidisciplinary team.
- Team building and working skills – able to lead a team to achieve results.
- Adapts communication style as necessary.
- Leadership training.
- Previous experience in leading a change process.
- An understanding of nursing issues in relation to finance management.
