About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Governance Manager to join our team at the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero. As a key member of our Central Programme Management Office, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our mission to make the UK a clean energy superpower.

As a Governance Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and embedding governance protocols, processes, templates, and standards. You will also document and formalise processes and procedures, and ensure that all tracking and supporting processes are in place and documented.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Government to understand governance and its activities, bringing insight and agreeing appropriate methods to bring resolution to related issues. You will also prepare supporting slide packs, papers, and other materials to inform stakeholders of programme governance.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to build relationships and consensus with senior stakeholders and facilitate efficient decision-making. You will also need to have a proven track record of managing multiple priorities and responding flexibly to competing demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and embed governance protocols, processes, templates, and standards.
  • Document and formalise processes and procedures.

  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across Government to understand governance and its activities.
  • Prepare supporting slide packs, papers, and other materials to inform stakeholders of programme governance.
