About Us

The Department for Energy Security & Net Zero is a leading organisation in the UK, dedicated to delivering our mission to make the UK a clean energy superpower. Our work is crucial in ensuring a secure and diverse energy system, with a focus on decarbonising the gas system.

Job Summary

About the Role

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining internal relationships with teams whose work impacts natural gas networks, furthering the team's understanding of potential challenges and conflicts associated with gas network transition, and leading the Department's policy relating to gas network decommissioning.

Key Requirements

  • A track record of working collaboratively and driving progress in the face of diverse viewpoints.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to approach complex problems in a structured way.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities effectively, thinking strategically and understanding how external influences can impact policy direction.
  • Flexible and capable of adapting approaches to meet wide-ranging needs in line with business requirements.
