We are seeking an exceptional policy expert to join our team at the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero. As a key player in driving the UK's transition to net zero, you will play a crucial role in shaping the country's energy future.

The successful candidate will lead on Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) policy, working closely with government departments to unlock barriers and accelerate deployment of this revolutionary technology. Your expertise will be essential in capturing policy learnings from innovation work and influencing future V2X initiatives.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a passion for policy development and implementation. You will work collaboratively with analysts and external partners to understand the potential of V2X and drive its adoption. With a focus on delivery and individual learning and development, this role offers excellent opportunities for growth and professional development.

About the Role
  • Lead on V2X policy, working with government departments to overcome technical and regulatory barriers.
  • Capture policy learnings from innovation work and influence future V2X initiatives.
  • Work with analysts and external partners to understand the potential of V2X and drive its adoption.
Requirements
  • Experience of designing and implementing policy or strategies in a civil service or external environment.
  • Able to work collaboratively with people across teams and organisations and drive work forwards when working through others.
  • Ability to think strategically and join the dots between different issues.
  • Possession of strong time management skills and a focus on your own learning and development.
  • Able to concisely communicate complex technical concepts in writing and orally.
