Job Summary

A critical member of our team is required to lead the connection and commissioning of new grid connections as part of new renewable energy project construction. This challenging role requires a strong understanding of grid connection reform and the ability to manage relationships with Network operators DNOs/TNOs/NGET.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating consultants to submit Transmission and/or Distribution grid connection applications for generation sites (wind & solar), Battery Energy Storage Sites (BESS) sites, and seeking amendments to existing applications for co-location of BESS and generating technologies.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with Network operators DNOs/TNOs/NGET.
  • Maintaining awareness of grid connection reform and staying up-to-date with upcoming changes.
  • Contributing to the strategy for identifying and securing new sites based on grid capacity (both generation and demand).
  • Assessing feasibility studies and participating in project design to respond to grid capacity availability.
  • Providing guidance on managing grid connection budgets.
  • Monitoring budget status, milestones, securities, liabilities etc..
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
  • Previous experience in a technical role related to grid connections for electricity projects.
  • Background in renewable energy projects, particularly solar, wind, and BESS.
  • Familiarity with Grid Code/ENA G99 and G98 regulations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Salary Information

The salary range for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
