Job Title: Lead SEN English Curriculum Specialist

Location: Remote (with occasional on-site visits)
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities- Lead and Coordinate English Curriculum: Develop and implement a comprehensive English curriculum for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring alignment with national standards and best practices.
- Manage English Literacy and Phonics Interventions: Design and deliver targeted interventions to improve literacy and phonics skills among SEN students, monitoring progress and adjusting strategies as needed.
- Provide Training and Support: Offer training and coaching to teaching staff on effective English teaching methods, literacy strategies, and phonics techniques to support SEN students.
- Collaborate with SLT: Work closely with Senior Leadership Team to ensure English curriculum development and implementation align with school goals and objectives.
- Act as Careers Officer: Provide guidance and support to students on career choices, ensuring compliance with Gatsby Benchmarks.
- Qualifications: PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification, with evidence of in-service training.
- Experience: Relevant knowledge and experience of working with students with SEN, SLD/PMLD, and ASD.
- Skills: Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures, experience of managing behaviors that challenge.
