About the Role
The Aurora Group is seeking an experienced and skilled English Lead Teacher to join our team at Aurora Brooklands School. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating English within the whole school, ensuring that our students receive a high-quality education that meets their needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and organize English within the whole school, developing and implementing a curriculum that meets the needs of our students.
- Manage and lead relevant approaches and subject information, including assessment of progress in English, literacy, and phonics.
- Ensure literacy and phonics interventions are coordinated, delivered, and tracked, and that our students make progress and achieve their full potential.
- Develop English as a specialist and successful dimension of the academic curriculum offer, reflected by improved progress and outcomes for all pupils.
- Provide training to staff as needed, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge to support our students.
- Provide relevant progress and teaching/learning quality information to the Senior Leadership Team as required.
- Act as Careers Officer, ensuring compliance with the Gatsby Benchmarks and providing guidance and support to our students.
Requirements
- PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed, or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
- Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN, SLD/PMLD, and ASD.
- Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
- Experience of managing a range of approaches to behavior, including managing behaviors that challenge.
