Job Title: Lead SEN English Teacher

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Lead SEN English Teacher to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating English within the school, ensuring that our pupils receive the best possible education.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of teaching English to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and will be able to develop and implement effective literacy and phonics interventions. You will work closely with our staff to provide training and support, ensuring that our pupils receive the best possible education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate English within the school, ensuring that our pupils receive the best possible education.
  • Develop and implement effective literacy and phonics interventions, working closely with our staff to ensure that our pupils receive the best possible education.
  • Provide training and support to our staff, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to teach English to pupils with SEN.
  • Work closely with our senior leadership team to ensure that our pupils receive the best possible education.
  • Act as Careers Officer, ensuring compliance with the Gatsby Benchmarks.
Requirements
  • PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN, SLD/PMLD and ASD.
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge.
