Job Title: Lead SEN English Teacher

Salary: £30,000 - £51,000 per annum + £1,500 Welcome Bonus

Contract: Full time, Permanent

Teaching Personnel Permanent Workforce Team is seeking an experienced English Teacher to lead a team of educators in a UK wide SEN Trust. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with students with SEMH needs, such as Autism, and will be responsible for leading, organizing, and coordinating English within the whole school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Coordinate English: Develop and implement English curriculum, manage and lead relevant approaches and subject information, and ensure literacy and phonics interventions are coordinated, delivered, and tracked.
  • Manage and Lead Team: Provide training to staff as and when required, provide relevant progress and teaching/learning quality information to SLT, and act as Careers Officer ensuring compliance with the Gatsby Benchmarks.
  • Develop English Curriculum: Develop English as a specialist and successful dimension of the academic curriculum offer, reflected by improved progress and outcomes for all pupils.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
  • Experience: Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN, SLD/PMLD and ASD, understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures, experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge, and experience of successfully delivering a differentiated curriculum to students with a wide range of needs.
