Job Title: Chief Executive Officer

HMRC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Chief Executive Officer. As a key member of the department, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a portfolio of Board and ExCom committees to ensure effective decision-making and governance.
  • Develop and implement corporate governance strategies to drive business improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage relationships with senior stakeholders, including Permanent Secretaries, committee chairs, and non-executive directors.
  • Commission high-quality papers and reports to inform business decisions and drive forward improvements.
  • Record accurate and clear minutes and actions from meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with a small, high-performing team to deliver corporate objectives and improve the department's governance.

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience in corporate governance, secretariat, or a related field.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work comfortably with senior leaders and maintain discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
