Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Commercial Strategy: Develop and implement commercial strategies that align with our company's financial goals and delivery timelines.
  • Drive Customer-Centric Delivery: Collaborate with sales and delivery teams to ensure customer agreements are embedded into project designs and timelines.
  • Monitor and Control Multiple Projects: Oversee the commercial aspects of diverse, high-value data centre projects, reviewing project KPIs, mitigating risks, and driving solutions for on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Embed Commercial Acumen in Decision-Making: Ensure a commercial approach is applied in all procurement activities, factoring in total lifecycle cost, not just initial expenses.
  • Vendor & Supply Chain Management: Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders, including customers, consultants, and contractors, navigating market conditions, securing diverse supply chain connections, and ensuring timely issue resolution.
  • Contract Negotiations & Risk Management: Manage commercial contract negotiations, ensuring terms support the successful and sustainable delivery of hyperscale data centre projects.

Requirements

  • Strategic Financial Planning: Develop and maintain commercial processes that minimize cost escalations and ensure value for money across all projects.
  • Risk Mitigation: Focus on proactively identifying risks related to market conditions, vendor performance, and legal obligations.
  • Market Intelligence and Commercial Insight: Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, inflation risks, and contractor pricing strategies.
  • Building and Managing Teams: Supervise the activities of the Commercial, Procurement, and OFCI teams, ensuring optimal workload balance, performance tracking, and skill development.
