About the Role

We are seeking a Deputy Operations Manager to join our team in Auckland, New Zealand. This is a full-time permanent position responsible for delivering high-quality trips and experiences for our guests. The successful candidate will have a strong background in operations management, with experience in training and supporting trip leaders. The role requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

The key tasks and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing trip leaders with access to up-to-date information on destinations, trip-specific information, leader notes, and operational systems and procedures.
  • Supporting trip leaders in running their trips, including being the first point of contact for operations issues and incidents.
  • Facilitating ongoing coaching, mentoring, feedback, and development of trip leaders to ensure they have the right skills, knowledge, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences.
  • Promoting purposeful activities, projects, and causes among trip leaders and encouraging their participation in such activities.

The salary range for this role is $70,000-$85,000 NZD per annum, depending on experience.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Two years' experience in the travel industry, preferably as a trip leader or leading/guiding group travel.
  • Extensive travel experience in New Zealand and a passion for travel.
  • Management coaching/training experience desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with trip leaders, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
