Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000-$85,000 NZD per annum, plus generous benefits that include flexible work options, free Intrepid trips, and 20 hours of volunteer leave every year.
Job Description
As our NZ Deputy Operations Manager, you'll be instrumental in delivering high-quality, safe, profitable, and socially responsible trips and experiences for all our guests. This will be achieved through continuous support and training of our Trip Leaders and efficiency improvements and planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Trip Leaders with access to up-to-date information on the destination they are working in, trip-specific information, leader notes, and operational systems and procedures.
- Facilitate on-going coaching, mentoring, feedback, and development of Trip Leaders so that each Trip Leader has the right skills, knowledge, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences.
- Promote purposeful activities, projects, and causes amongst Trip Leaders and encourage their participation in such activities.
- Meticulously prepare trips by checking for National Park alerts, NZTA notifications, and closures, and managing the efficient organization of tour documents, folders, and logistics, including DOC concessions.
Requirements and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Two years' experience in the travel industry preferably as a Trip Leader or leading/guiding group travel.
- Extensive travel experience in New Zealand and a passion for travel.
- Management coaching/training experience desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with Trip Leaders, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
