Job Summary:

OBM People is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Ships Agent to join our team. As a Trainee Ships Agent, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our clients, while also learning the ins and outs of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, ensuring they receive the highest quality of service delivery and support.
  • Operational Requests: Action operational requests from vessels, vessel owners, and vessel charterers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Supply Chain Management: Source and procure equipment and supplies as needed, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company rules.
  • Data Management: Input, retrieve, and report data using computerized systems, maintaining accuracy and presentation style.
  • Risk Management: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of risk assessments and method statements, ensuring compliance with legislation and company rules.
  • Incident Investigation: Work closely with safety advisors during incident investigations to effect timely and positive results.
  • Driving Duties: Safely transport ships personnel, belongings, and equipment using company vehicles.

Requirements:

  • Full Clean Driving License: Possess a valid full clean driving license.
  • Customer Focus: Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain effective relationships, both internal and external.
  • Adaptability: Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing workloads and priorities.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrate solutions-based thinking, with strong planning, organizing, and numeric skills.
  • Initiative: Work independently, demonstrating initiative and ownership, while contributing positively to the team.
  • Performance: Motivated to achieve high standards of performance and customer support, maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft suite, with experience in MS AX an advantage.
