Job Summary:

OBM People is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Ships Agent to join our team in Aberdeen. As a Trainee Ships Agent, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our clients in the oil and gas industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring they receive the highest quality of service delivery and support.
  • Operational Requests: Action operational requests from vessels, vessel owners, and vessel charterers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Supply Chain Management: Source and procure equipment and supplies as required.
  • Data Management: Input, retrieve, and report data using computerized systems, ensuring accuracy and appropriate presentation style.
  • Health and Safety: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of risk assessments and method statements, and undertake reviews to ensure compliance with legislation and company rules.
  • Incident Investigation: Work closely with safety advisors during incident investigations and safety initiatives to effect timely and positive results.
  • Transportation: Drive company vehicles, including minibuses and flatbed trucks, to safely transport ships personnel, belongings, and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Full clean driving license, customer-focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Skills: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships, both internal and external, accustomed to working effectively in a fast-paced environment, flexible, and able to adapt to changing workloads and priorities.
  • Personal Qualities: Solutions-based, with strong planning, organizing, and numeric skills, excellent attention to detail, motivated to achieve the highest standards of performance and customer support, and a positive contributor to the wider team.

Working Environment:

The successful candidate will be based in Montrose and will be required to travel to other ports to conduct vessel visits. Mobility is essential for this role.
