Job Summary:

OBM People is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Ships Agent to join our team. As a Trainee Ships Agent, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our clients, while also learning the ins and outs of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring they receive the highest quality of service delivery and support.
  • Operational Requests: Action requests from vessels, vessel owners, and vessel charterers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Supply Chain Management: Source and procure equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Data Management: Input, retrieve, and report data using computerized systems, ensuring accuracy and presentation.
  • Risk Management: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of risk assessments and method statements, ensuring compliance with legislation and company rules.
  • Incident Investigation: Work closely with safety advisors to investigate incidents and implement positive results.
  • Driving Duties: Safely transport ships personnel, belongings, and equipment using company vehicles.

Requirements:

  • Full Clean Driving License: Required for driving duties.
  • Customer Focus: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships, both internal and external.
  • Adaptability: Flexible and able to adapt to changing workloads and priorities, maintaining high standards under pressure.
  • Problem-Solving: Solutions-based with strong planning, organizing, and numeric skills, and an excellent attention to detail.
  • Initiative: Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and ownership, while contributing positively to the team.
  • Performance: Motivated to achieve the highest standards of performance and customer support, maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • IT Skills: Computer literate with well-developed IT skills across the Microsoft suite, with MS AX being an advantage.
