We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Ship's Master to join our team at Sentinel Marine Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the vessel's crew, ensuring that all operations are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage and coordinate the activities of the vessel's crew, including the Chief Officer, Second Officer, and other personnel.
- Operational Oversight
- Ensure that all vessel operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and control the vessel's performance, including speed, fuel consumption, and other key metrics.
- Compliance and Regulatory
- Ensure that the vessel complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including those related to safety, security, and environmental protection.
- Manage and maintain all necessary documentation, including certificates, permits, and other records.
- Communication and Liaison
- Establish and maintain effective communication with the company's shore-based teams, including the operations, safety, and security departments.
- Liaise with charterers, agents, and other stakeholders to ensure that vessel operations are conducted in accordance with their requirements.
- Qualifications and Experience
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as maritime studies or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Ship's Master, with a proven track record of safe and efficient vessel operation.
- Skills and Competencies
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of personnel.
- Strong operational and technical skills, with a deep understanding of vessel operations and management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be required to work at sea for extended periods, with occasional periods of shore-based work. The role will require the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
