Job Title: Neonatal Staff Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Neonatal Staff Nurse to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Neonatal Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to newborn babies and their families.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a strong background in neonatal nursing and be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans for newborn babies, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based care to newborn babies and their families, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
  • Assess and recognize emergencies within the neonatal unit, taking appropriate action and seeking support when required.
  • Administer medications safely and effectively, adhering to unit policy and NMC guidelines.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the needs and preferences of newborn babies and their families.
  • Communicate effectively with families, providing education and support to ensure they are empowered to care for their baby.
  • Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement projects to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Neonatal Staff Nurse who:

  • Has a strong background in neonatal nursing, with a recognized qualification in neonatal nursing practice.
  • Has experience of working in a neonatal setting, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality care.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with families and other healthcare professionals.
  • Is able to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
