Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Teaching Personnel. This is a temporary position with the possibility of becoming permanent.

About the Role

This Behaviour Support Assistant role requires a compassionate and experienced individual to support children and adults with challenging behaviour in an educational setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one or small group sessions focusing on emotional regulation, self-care techniques, and education plans for students with mental health concerns.
  • Monitor pupil's progress and communicate effectively with teachers regarding this.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Team Teach trained or willing to undergo training.
  • Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or mental health setting.
  • Strong understanding of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. All applicants must have the required qualifications and training for this position.
