Cleo AI is a pioneering fintech company empowering people to build a life beyond their next paycheck. We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced VP of People to join our team for 12 months, leading and growing our People team while our Head of People is on maternity leave and we hire for our next CPeO.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a strategic and data-driven leader to oversee our talent acquisition, people partnering, workplace experience, and people ops teams. You'll work closely with our CEO and Chief of Staff to develop and promote a comprehensive People strategy, driving growth and improvement across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Embedding our people strategy and vision to support a high-performance culture
  • Working with our Head of Talent on our talent acquisition strategy and guiding them to deliver on our ambitious hiring strategy
  • Leading talent management and development, focusing on productivity, engagement, reward, and recognition, as well as learning and development
  • Overseeing the People Ops agenda, working closely with our People Ops Lead to ensure our leaders have the people data they need to be effective
  • Leading a core team of People leaders, guiding and coaching them on their own journey, driving performance, and holding them to account on their plans and objectives
  • Driving the use of people-centric data to identify areas for development and help drive future people plans
Requirements

We're looking for someone with experience leading a high-performing People & Talent team, ideally scaling a company from 200-500+ employees with some international experience at a VC-backed business. You should have successfully built and improved tech-focused employer brands, be passionate about growing teams and cultivating an inclusive culture, and have excellent emotional intelligence and empathy.

Additionally, you should have:

  • Experience managing ER in the UK and internationally
  • Resilience and best-in-class stakeholder management skills
  • Attention to detail and data literacy, with analytical decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passion for the subject matter of People, the tech start-up landscape, and trends
