The Wildlife Trusts is a leading environmental charity with a mission to protect and restore wildlife and wild places. We are a federated movement of 46 charities, supported by a central charity, the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts. Our vision is to create a world where people and nature thrive.
We are at an exciting moment in our 110-year history, with the development of an ambitious new strategy, setting out a vision for nature in recovery. Our strategy includes five critical interventions: the development of a nature recovery network, creating landscape recovery areas, regenerative agriculture, green infrastructure, and highly protected marine areas.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our public affairs and policy efforts. As Head of Public Affairs and Policy, you will be responsible for developing and implementing policies that drive change and promote our mission. You will work closely with our central policy team and other stakeholders to achieve our goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement policies that promote our mission and drive change
- Work closely with our central policy team and other stakeholders to achieve our goals
- Build relationships with politicians, funders, and other key stakeholders
- Develop and implement advocacy strategies to promote our mission
- Monitor and analyze environmental legislation and policy developments
Requirements
We are looking for someone with a strong track record of experience in public affairs and policy. You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to have a deep understanding of environmental policy and legislation, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
