About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Public Affairs to lead our external affairs strategy and drive change in the UK. As a key member of our central policy team, you will be responsible for generating and implementing policies that promote our vision for nature in recovery.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of high-level advocacy and facilitation skills, with experience of working in the third sector and with the House of Commons and House of Lords. You will be able to inspire politicians, funders, the media, developers, and communities to support our cause.

You will need to be a strategic thinker, with excellent collaboration and facilitation skills, and the ability to work effectively across our movement to achieve our goals. We are looking for someone who is passionate about our mission and has a deep understanding of the workings of Westminster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement our external affairs strategy to drive change in the UK
  • Lead our policy team to generate and implement policies that promote our vision for nature in recovery
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including politicians, funders, the media, developers, and communities
  • Provide strategic advice to our leadership team on external affairs and policy issues
  • Work closely with our communications team to develop and implement effective communications strategies

Requirements

  • Proven track record of high-level advocacy and facilitation skills
  • Experience of working in the third sector and with the House of Commons and House of Lords
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent collaboration and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work effectively across our movement to achieve our goals
  • Passion for our mission and a deep understanding of the workings of Westminster
