About Us

The Wildlife Trusts is a federation of 46 charities, supported by a central charity, the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Affairs Director to join our team. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our public affairs strategy, working closely with our communications, policy, and fundraising teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a public affairs strategy that aligns with our conservation goals and supports our fundraising and policy objectives
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, media, and other external partners
  • Providing strategic advice to our senior leadership team on public affairs and communications
  • Leading and managing a team of public affairs professionals

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual with a strong track record in public affairs, communications, and team leadership. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
