Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Administrative Support Officer to join our team at Suffolk Advertising (SCC). As the Clerk for the parish, you will provide essential administrative support to the council, assist the Chair in managing meetings, and offer advice on policy and legislation to facilitate effective decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing agendas, attending meetings, taking minutes, providing advice to Councillors on procedural and legal matters, and ensuring actions are followed up.
- Managing all incoming and outgoing correspondence, serving as the primary point of contact for residents.
- Overseeing the Council's finances, handling tasks such as invoice payments, VAT reclaims, budgeting, bank reconciliations, financial monitoring and reporting.
- Organising and submitting responses to planning applications.
- Uploading statutory information to the village website and notice boards, with occasional use of social media and other communication channels.
Requirements:
- Passionate about improving the community, with a strong sense of commitment, motivation, and a willingness to learn.
- Reliability is key, and mentoring will be provided.
Working Arrangements:
This is a work-from-home role, with the requirement to attend monthly council meetings. Some village visitation and evening work will be necessary, and additional hours may occasionally be required with prior agreement.
Pay and Benefits:
£29,269.00-£36,648.00 per year, plus reasonable expenses and £26 per month working from home allowance.
