Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Medical Secretary to join our team at Primary Care Careers. As a Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support to our doctors, practice manager, and business manager, ensuring the efficient operation of our practice.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and timely typing and word processing services for GPs and health professionals.
  • Action referrals on SystmOne, ensuring forms are completed correctly and sent via email or eReferrals.
  • Maintain filing and administrative systems, ensuring written and computer information is easily accessible and secure.
  • Retrieve medical records and assist with completing medical and insurance records.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing telephone calls, taking messages and dealing with queries.
  • Maintain the computer clinic system in an accurate and secure manner.
  • Provide cover for members of the secretarial team during periods of sickness and annual leave.
  • Liaise with the clerk responsible to maintain adequate supplies of office stationery.
  • Receive and dispatch mail, maintaining a pending system.
