Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. As a key member of our nursing team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our Registered Nurses in maintaining a safe and stable clinical environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Undertake delegated personal care duties for patients, ensuring their dignity and well-being are maintained at all times.
  • Provide support to Registered Nursing staff in maintaining a safe and stable clinical environment, including assisting with clinical procedures and tasks as required.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of patient records, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of care plans, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) and evidence of mandatory training and other relevant study days.
  • Physical skills obtained through practice and the ability to demonstrate competence in nursing procedures that require a basic understanding of Anatomy & Physiology.
  • Prioritise, plan, and manage own work, as well as act on own initiative in relation to delivering patient care.
  • Able to supervise less experienced staff and demonstrate a caring disposition.
Person Specification
  • Previous relevant experience in dealing with the public and experience of working in an Emergency Department.
