Occupational Therapist for Children and Young People

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Linden Lodge School, a leading provider of education for children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties and sensory impairment.
As a Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will work as part of our integrated, multi-disciplinary therapy team to provide specialist, evidence-based occupational therapy provision to support the needs of our children and young people.
You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and implementing appropriate management plans for children with a wide range of occupational performance difficulties, and for supporting teaching staff and families/carers to implement occupational therapy strategies and approaches.
The post-holder will also be required to work collaboratively with other professionals and teams to ensure the provision of a high standard of assessment, treatment, and advice to our children, young people, and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing specialist occupational therapy provision to support the needs of children and young people with complex neurodevelopmental disabilities and sensory impairment.
- Assessing, diagnosing, and implementing appropriate management plans for children with a wide range of occupational performance difficulties.
- Supporting teaching staff and families/carers to implement occupational therapy strategies and approaches.
- Working collaboratively with other professionals and teams to ensure the provision of a high standard of assessment, treatment, and advice to our children, young people, and their families.
Requirements
- Recognised Occupational Therapy degree qualification or equivalent.
- Registered member of Health Care Professions Council Licence to Practice.
- Experience working as an occupational therapist with children and young people, including experience of assessing, diagnosing, and implementing appropriate management plans for children with a wide range of occupational performance difficulties.
- Sound knowledge of the National Curriculum across all Key Stages.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including observation, listening, and empathy skills, and ability to consider cultural diversity.
