IT Support Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to join our team at a leading chartered accountants firm in Sidcup, London. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing internal helpdesk support, installing and distributing software and operating system updates, and setting up new desktops and laptops.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to internal users, resolving software and hardware queries and issues
- Install and distribute software and operating system updates, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
- Configure and set up new desktops and laptops, ensuring they meet the firm's technical requirements
- Set up new users and complete leaver administration in accordance with HR requirements
- Perform daily and periodical network and desktop housekeeping checks and maintenance
- Investigate and diagnose technical issues, referring them to external IT providers as necessary
- Assist in the creation of new system and process documentation and ongoing upkeep
- Collaborate with the IT Manager to maintain a high level of security and protection against cybercrime
- Provide ad-hoc support and advice to clients, as directed
- Undertake specific projects aligned with IT strategic objectives
- Ensure systems comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Requirements
- Knowledge of specialized accounting and taxation software
- Expert knowledge of in-house IT systems and software, with a good understanding of alternatives
- Knowledge of Avaya IP phone systems and multi-function devices
- Knowledge of Mimecast messaging and document management systems
- Ability to keep up-to-date with emerging technology
