Executive Chef Opportunity at The Lakes Distillery

The Lakes Distillery, a luxury single malt whisky business, is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join its team. As a key member of the food and beverage operation, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional culinary experiences to guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen, motivating the kitchen team to consistently deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of seasonal menus and bespoke event menus.
  • Manage stock processes, including stock levels and stock rotation, and assist in stock takes.
  • Support the Head Chef in food hygiene, health & safety, and training policies and processes.
  • Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen team, including issuing rotas, managing leave, completing timesheets, and dealing with HR matters.
  • Maintain the kitchen in an immaculate condition, including responsibility for equipment maintenance.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in managing people and processes.
  • Experience in and a clear understanding of stock management processes.
  • Ability to work as part of a wider business team and under own initiative.
  • Right to work within the United Kingdom.

The Executive Chef role is a temporary position for an initial three-month period.
