Executive Chef Assistant Opportunity at The Lakes Distillery

The Lakes Distillery, a luxury single malt whisky business, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef Assistant to join its team. As a key member of the kitchen team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen, motivating the team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation and delivery of seasonal menus and bespoke event menus.
  • Manage stock processes, including stock levels and stock rotation, and assist in stock takes.
  • Support the Head Chef in food hygiene, health & safety, and training policies and processes.
  • Assist in the management of the kitchen team, including issuing rotas, managing leave, completing timesheets, and dealing with HR matters.
  • Ensure the kitchen is maintained in an immaculate condition, including responsibility for equipment maintenance.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in managing people and processes.
  • Experience in and a clear understanding of stock management processes.
  • Ability to work as part of a wider business team and under own initiative.
  • Right to work within the United Kingdom (required).
