Executive Chef Assistant Opportunity at The Lakes Distillery
The Lakes Distillery, a luxury single malt whisky business, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef Assistant to join its team. As a key member of the kitchen team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen, motivating the team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation and delivery of seasonal menus and bespoke event menus.
- Manage stock processes, including stock levels and stock rotation, and assist in stock takes.
- Support the Head Chef in food hygiene, health & safety, and training policies and processes.
- Assist in the management of the kitchen team, including issuing rotas, managing leave, completing timesheets, and dealing with HR matters.
- Ensure the kitchen is maintained in an immaculate condition, including responsibility for equipment maintenance.
Key Characteristics:
- Passion for guest-focused hospitality and enthusiasm for delivering new and exciting menus.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the team and lead by example, motivating and inspiring others with a positive mindset and solutions-first approach.
- Highly reliable, organized, and professional, with exceptional communication skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable with change and aware of the need to pivot to meet the needs of a growing business.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience in managing people and processes.
- Experience in and a clear understanding of stock management processes.
- Ability to work as part of a wider business team and under own initiative.
- Right to work within the United Kingdom (required).
