Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking a Family Support Specialist to join their team in South Cambs.

About the Team

The team provides early intervention support to reduce the risk of harm and escalation of problems, helping families to stay together and thrive. The role of a Family Support Specialist is a vital part of this process, working closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality support to families.

Key Responsibilities
  1. To use a whole family approach for supporting families, working with them on an individual basis in their homes and within the community.
  2. To complete Early Help Assessments (EHA's) and be Lead Professional for the family.
  3. To organise, plan, and deliver evidence-based group work programmes to support parents/carers with topics such as parenting, childhood development, domestic abuse, and healthy relationships.
Requirements
  • A good knowledge and understanding of child development, signs of abuse and neglect, and of child protection legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • A good knowledge and understanding of how to conduct assessments and create plans for support that promote positive outcomes.
  • A good knowledge and understanding of providing direct support to vulnerable families and of evidence-based programmes.
  • A willingness to continue professional development through informal and formal training.

Salary

£27,000 - £32,000 per annum depending on experience.
