About the Role

The Stephen James Partnership is seeking a highly experienced Senior Competition Counsel to join their Group's legal team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on competition and regulatory law matters across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on legal and strategic projects, providing UK and EU competition and regulatory law advice to stakeholders across the business.
  • Identify and develop ways competition and regulatory law can be used to drive strategic business objectives.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including customers, regulatory bodies, and competition authorities, on competition and regulatory law matters.
  • Provide legal advice on contentious competition and regulatory matters, including litigation before the Courts and regulatory bodies.
  • Manage and deliver against budget for competition and regulatory law cases, including litigation.
  • Develop and implement best practice documents on competition law and manage cross-functional projects.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of post-qualification experience, ideally with E&W qualification.
  • Proven experience working on competition and regulatory matters.
  • Experience in supporting advisory and contentious competition/regulatory matters.
  • Previous direct or indirect supervision of junior team members.
