Job Description

Job Title: Director, Health and Life Sciences Practice Leader

Job Summary:

Global Counsel is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Health and Life Sciences practice. As a Director, you will be responsible for managing a team of policy consultants and contributing to the design and implementation of a growth strategy for the practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of policy consultants and contribute to the development of a growth strategy for the practice
  • Work with the Practice Director to design and implement a growth strategy for the practice
  • Contribute to the development of thought leadership and advocacy strategies for clients
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet the challenges of politics, regulation, and public policymaking
  • Provide expert advice and support to clients on health and life sciences policy
  • Build and maintain partnerships and relationships with stakeholders at senior levels
  • Develop and implement a talent management strategy for the team

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of healthcare policy and how it is made
  • Ability to track policy trends across key global jurisdictions
  • Understanding of the interaction of politics with healthcare policy
  • Track record of effective team management and development
  • Personal drive and commercial awareness to develop and execute a growth strategy
  • Background in public sector policymaking and/or private sector public policy advice
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills in English
  • Competence in other European languages is highly desirable
