Job Overview

The company, a rapidly growing private equity-backed business, is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to lead the finance team and manage financial operations. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure the company's financial health and support its growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS/UK GAAP standards.
  • Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and monitor robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing detailed analysis and insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow planning and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet the company's operational and strategic needs. Monitor cash flow and identify potential risks.
  • Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring all financial activities comply with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide in-depth financial analysis to senior management, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities. Support strategic initiatives with relevant financial data and insights.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.

Requirements

  • Professional Qualification: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a strong technical accounting background.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Financial Controller, preferably within a private equity-backed or multi-site business environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in financial management software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a finance team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
