Therapist - Emotional Wellbeing Specialist

The role of the Therapist is a critical component of our multi-disciplinary team, working with children and young people looked after, and care leavers to support their emotional wellbeing. This position requires the ability to engage, motivate, and challenge, working with children, young people, and their families/foster carers to build on existing strengths and achieve positive change.
The successful candidate will provide both consultation and therapeutic intervention to children across the continuum of care, as well as their parents/foster carers and professional systems around them. They will work within internal and nationally recognised clinical governance frameworks, ensuring a safe, high-quality, consistent service.
Key responsibilities include working within an integrated multi-disciplinary team, participating in Social Care meetings, providing training and consultations to systems around the child or young person, and providing therapeutic interventions to children across the continuum of care.
The ideal candidate will have a background in social care, youth work, education, or a related area, with a sound knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a high level of organisation, good written and verbal communication, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Polaris Children's Services is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment.
Key skills and experience required include a Counselling and/or Therapy qualification, experience of working with children and young people, experience of working with professionals, parents, and foster carers, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually.
