About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Wellbeing Support Specialist to join our team in Chester, working night shifts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our residents during emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Emergency Response: You will be responsible for responding promptly to emergency calls within the village, assessing the situation, and providing appropriate assistance.
  2. First Aid and Medical Care: In cases where medical attention is required, you will administer first aid and basic medical care when necessary.
  3. Emergency Call System Training: You will ensure that all residents and team members are trained on how to use the emergency call system effectively.
  4. New Resident Onboarding: Before new residents move into the village, you will conduct their wellbeing baseline assessment to ensure they can live independently and safely.
  5. Wellbeing Promotion: You will provide information and awareness sessions about key health issues affecting over 55s and promote self-help groups to improve overall wellbeing.
  6. Coordination with Emergency Services: When necessary, you will coordinate with emergency services such as police, fire department, and ambulance.
  7. Effective Communication: During emergency situations, you will communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  8. Support to Village Team: You will support wider village team members by sharing your specialist wellbeing knowledge to promote healthy eating programs and general wellbeing initiatives.
  9. Incident Record Keeping: You will maintain accurate records of incidents and actions taken.
  10. Moral and Emotional Support: You will provide moral and emotional support to our residents.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Satisfactory DBS disclosure & references; medical clearance and right to work in the UK clearance.
  • Proven experience as an emergency responder, EMT, or similar role preferred.
  • Experience or knowledge of primary care and referral to primary care.
  • Certification in CPR/ First Aid required.
  • Holds an emergency first aid at work qualification and must be able to reach all areas of the village unaided and unassisted, and be confident and effective in carrying and deploying equipment in any part of the village and administering CPR as well as dealing with choking incidents requiring effective back blows.
  • Ability to use specialist equipment including defibrillator, evacuation or lifting chair or any other equipment carried by the village.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed during stressful situations.
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of elderly residents.
  • Physical ability to respond quickly to emergencies and assist residents as needed.
Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is £30,000-£35,000 per annum, dependent on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medicash, free eye test, life assurance, holidays, birthday off, volunteering days up to 3 in the year, enhanced sick pay (after 6 months of service), enhanced maternity, enhanced paternity and cycle to work scheme plus much more.
